More appropriately, Chicago Italian Beef sandwich, from immigrants working in the Chicago stockyards came this seasoned meat roasted over water so that a rich broth is created. House butchered, slow roasted, local pasture raised beef rubbed with herbs and spices. The meat is sliced very thinly, warmed in this rich broth and layered into a roll which can hold its form. It is garnished with Chicago style hot or mild giardiniera which is marinated peppers, cauliflower, carrots, celery, olives, olive oil, vinegar, and oregano sdesigned specically for this sandwich. Local Italian Sub- Our version, using our charcuterie: housemade ‘Nduja and house smoked ham plus salami and imported prosciutto with provolone, arugula, giardiniera (hot or mild), EVOO, red wine vinegar on a soft fresh baked baguette. Our House smoked, housemade Pulled Pork is some of the best around! We use our locally sourced pork, and dry rub it with a mixture of spices. We then smoke it and slow roast it overnight which gives it an amazing flavor! There's no BBQ sauce required for this! It's served on a french loaf to soak up the juices with pickles or something pickled in house (like fennel or radish). Usually Fridays until it is gone!
